Earth to Echo – After receiving a bizarre series of encrypted messages, a group of kids embark on an adventure with an alien who needs their help. This is a Walt Disney Studio film and is rated PG.
The Fluffy Movie: Unity Through Laughter – A comedy concert film that captures the on-stage performance and inspirational success story of Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias. Rated PG-13 for suggestive material and sexual references. You will find this movie in our nonfiction DVD section. The call number is DV 792.
Purge: Anarchy – A young couple works to survive on the streets after their car breaks down right as the annual purge commences. This is a sequel to the first Purge movie. Despite mixed reviews, the original film grossed $89,328,627 during its run, far surpassing its $3 million budget. Both movies are based on the same premise. That in order to stimulate the economy and rid society of the homeless and poor, the government allows a 12 hour purge in which all criminal activity is legalized and no emergency services will be delivered. This film is rated R.
Sex Tape – A married couple wake up to discover that the sex tape they made the evening before has gone missing, leading to a frantic search for its whereabouts. Starring Cameron Diaz and Jason Segel. Despite the big actors in this film, it did not do well with the critics or in audience reviews and as of September, hadn’t even made back its original budget in box office receipts. Rated R.
Snowpiercer – Set in a future where a failed climate-change experiment kills all life on the planet except for a lucky few who boarded the Snowpiercer, a train that travels around the globe, where a class system emerges. This film received a 95% fresh rating from Rotten Tomatoes and 76% of audience reviews were positive. This is an action Sci-Fi thriller rated R.
