Are you a fan of paranormal romances? Do you read Heather Graham, Jayne Castle, Karen Marie Moning, Diana Gabaldon, Laurell K. Hamilton, Rachel Caine or Charlaine Harris. Just to name a few. And then there was the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer.

What exactly is a paranormal romance?   Paranormal romance blends the real with the fantastic or science fictional. The story might involve vampires, demons, fairies and/or werewolves.  Humans with psychic abilities, witches or ghosts. Time travel or even extraterrestrials.  There may be suspense, murder and mystery, but at the heart, these are romances.

We are adding a new author to our paranormal collection, Sharon Ashwood, winner of the 2011 RITA (Romance Writers of America) award Paranormal Romance. Watch for her Dark Forgotten Series. Coming soon.

Did you smoke your way through Evanovich’s latest, Smokin’ Seventeen?  What did you think? Among the library staff who read it, the review is “it’s okay.”  But, did it leave you hanging?  The next book, Explosive Eighteen, comes out November 22nd.  So, between now and then, what do you read?

Harlan Coben – Myron Bolitar series – has what every series needs – great characters, action, some steamy scenes. Read in order, though.

Tori Carrington – a husband and wife team with over 28 novels
