Here’s a little something to help you get past the pain of filing your taxes. And seeing it snow in April. As always, here a link to place a hold.
The Secret Life of Walter Mitty – starring Ben Stiller. Walter Mitty is actually a fictional character created by James Thurber in his short story “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty, first published in The New Yorker in 1939. (Read that story here.) Thurber then added the story to his book My World and Welcome to It in 1942. If you read it, you will find that Mr. Stiller took quite a few liberties with Thurber’s original story. Oh, well. This is actually one of the few movies I saw in the theater and it was enjoyable. Certainly a good enough film to watch on a free DVD from your public library. Only complaint I had was, “Really? He could get cell phone service there?” but you’ll understand if you watch the movie.
